Services We Provide
Social Emotional DevelopmentSecond Step is one of the great tools we use in the classroom. We promote skills for learning listening, focusing attention, using self-talk and being assertive.
We encourage empathy so children can identify one's own and other's feelings, taking others perspectives, showing care and concern for others. We practice emotion management by understanding strong feelings, identifying one's own strong feelings and calming down strong feelings. We encourage our students have fun with friends and feel confident to join in or invite others to play. We love making and keeping friends and using problem solving steps. |
Interactive InstructionIn early childhood settings, children and teachers interact all day long. The benefits to teachers and children interactions are intentional and purposeful
Powerful Interactions! Be Present, by pausing to tune in to how you are feeling, and consider how you might need to adjust to create a “just-right” fit with a child. Connect, by letting the children know that you see him or her are interested in what he or she is doing, saying, and thinking; and want to spend time with him. Deepening your relationship this way helps the child feel safe, confident, and open to learning. Staying connected and observant helps you make good decisions in step three. Extend Learning, by making use of strong connection with the child to stretch his knowledge, skills, thinking, or language and vocabulary. |
Kindergarten ReadinessExtending a child’s learning hand-in-hand with nurturing a positive relationship, a Powerful Interaction creates the optimal condition for you to teach and the child to learn.
Transitioning to Kindergarten is exciting but a huge change for children and their families. We tailor each child's curriculum to meet their needs and highlight their unique abilities. We think about how our program will make the transition into Kindergarten goes smoothly. We make connections in Art, Dramatic Play, Cognitive, Language, Literacy, Math, Movement, Music, Social Studies, Science, Technology and Social Studies. We want our student to feel comfortable speaking up assertively, saying their problems, and thinking of solutions. We use a program called Teaching Strategies Gold that helps teachers with assessments, observations and curriculum planning. |
